Lee County Sheriff - MS

We have worked with the Lee County Sheriffs Department since 2007. We are excited about the launch of their redesigned website with many new features.

The new website includes many of the items that were there previously, inmate search (provided by Tiger Correctional), press releases, community information, and quick links to contacts within the department. However, with the redesign, we wanted to improve aspects of the website that can better serve the staff as well as Lee County citizens.

Improved Crime Tip Form

The community has always been able to send in a crime tip through the website. With the redesign, we added a feature to remain anonymous or not. If they chose to, a tipster could provide contact information and be contacted by a deputy or investigator about the tip.

Job Portal

The new website now features a job board that allows the staff to publish openings at the department. Candidates can only apply online when there is an opening.

In Memoriam

The In-Memoriam section was added as well with the redesign. This section includes an image, when available, allowing LCSO to honor those that have paid the ultimate price while serving with the department.

Lee County Sex Offenders

In Mississippi, Megans Law (1996) requires sex offenders to register and check-in with the DMV when they move into an area, change addresses, change jobs, and attend a school at scheduled intervals throughout the year. As part of the update, we included a sex offender lookup on the website.

The LCSO staff that maintain and check that these offenders daily to make sure the offenders are following requirements can show an offender that has failed to report. This shows as a red flag on the offenders information and is added automatically to the Most Wanted page of the website.
